The European Institute for Health Records (EuroRec) is an independent not-for-profit organisation, promoting the use of high quality Electronic Health Record systems (EHRs) in Europe.
EuroRec undertakes activities that support the effective and meaningful use by healthcare professionals of high quality and interoperable applications, meeting well-specified functional, content-related, interoperability and governance requirements.
As the most experienced European certification body, one of its main missions is to support EHR system conformity assessment and quality labelling by defining relevant functional and non-functional criteria. Quality assessment and certification of EHR systems is essential for the safe and cross-border provision of care to citizens across Europe.
EuroRec currently holds the pre-eminent position in Europe as the Institute with the most experience, methodologies, tools and criteria repository to support EC country and multi-national quality labelling initiatives (Belgrade Declaration).
EuroRec was recently commissioned by the European Institute for Innovation through Health Data (i~HD) to develop a Quality Seal for Research Platforms.
