This course is particularly useful for:

• All clinical leaders and decision makers who have to commission healthcare   systems, or decide how their present systems should evolve so as to provide   a sound basis for integrated care with high quality,
• those who seek help to develop/improve clinical process oriented systems for   integrated care by using these standards, and
• developers and purchasers of information systems in healthcare.

After the course, participants will...

•     Be able to understand why there is a need for a specific, new structured documentation/vocabulary and clinical models of concepts and processes in this domain.
•     Have knowledge of the latest version of the ContSys specification, and have a working knowledge of key concepts within the standard; the participant will also be introduced to a family of standards that have been designed to work together, in which ContSys plays a leading role.
•     Know how to integrate clinical process oriented quality management conformant to ISO 9001 and EN 15224 in the conceptual framework of ContSys.
•     Have knowledge concerning the needs for and possibilities to concretize ContSys for implementations of the ContSys framework.
•     Have an introduction to clinical process models and the role they play within this complex ecosystem.
•     Know how to use the ContSys vocabulary, concept and clinical process models for key use cases in continuity of care; practical sessions will be a key part of this interactive course.

This course is intended to be the first within an extensive programme of courses, where each is intended either to describe the individual specifications in more detail, the part they play in relation to other standards and to the overall concept of concurrent use architectures to support integrated care. The programme will focus on the quality aspects of healthcare services.
