DI Dr. Alexander Schanner is Programme Manager of the Austrian ELGA Task Force.

ELGA (Elektronischer Gesundheitsakt) is the central eHealth activity in Austria creating an Austrian Health Record System. The object of the ELGA Task Force is to push forward the networking of existing and future electronic information and documentation systems in the Austrian health care system within the scope of a multi-project management. The main target is the establishment of the so called "electronic health record" (ELGA) in order to increase quality and efficiency of the health care system.

Dipak Kalra is a clinical senior lecturer at CHIME (UCL). He plays a leading international role in research and development of electronic health record architectures and systems. His interests include the requirements and models needed to ensure the robust long-term preservation of clinical meaning and protection of privacy. He leads CEN and ISO Task Forces producing an international EHR Communications standard. He is involved in a UK Medical Research Council e-Science project, CLEF, developing a pseudonymised repository of cancer records and query tools to support bio-informatics research. Dipak is a Director of the openEHR Foundation, chairman of its Clinical Review Board and a member of its Architecture Review Board.

He was previously a GP for eight years in a deprived part of London.

Dr. Päivi Hämäläinen PhD, MD, MA, Specialist of Public Health and General Medicine, director of STAKES Unit for eHealth and eWelfare.

She has led the national EPR-working group 2002-2004 and is currently the manager of the Finnish health and social care code server. Dr. Päivi Hämäläinen has been involved in several Finnish national and international eHealth, patient safety, and other developments.

Mats Larson has more than 30 years experience in healthcare - most of this time as a Hospital Manager in Sweden. In addition, he also established Carelink - an NGO to promote the adoption of IT in Swedish Care.

His current position is Business Development Director for Oracle in the Nordic countries as well as being for 4 years acting President of European Health Telematics Association (EHTEL)

Petra Wilson is a director for the Public Sector Healthcare team of the Cisco Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG), focusing on helping customers develop their strategies and implementation plans for "Connected Health" information management and technology.

Previously, she was deputy director of the European Health Management Association (EHMA), a membership organization committed to improving healthcare in Europe by standards of managerial performance in the health sector. Prior to EHMA, Petra worked for the European Commission where she worked specifically on the European eHealth Action Plan, which commits all member states of the European Union to adopt road maps for the implementation of Connected Health solutions.
Originally trained in law, Petra and spent several years as a lecturer and Senior Research Fellow at Nottingham University, UK, specializing in healthcare law and European law. She has a Ph.D. in public health law from Oxford University.

Professor Dr. Georges J.E. De Moor studied Medicine and specialised in Clinical Pathology and Nuclear Medicine at the State University of Ghent (Belgium), where he also obtained a PhD in Medical Information Science.

Currently, he is head of the Department of Health Informatics and Medical Statistics at the State University of Ghent, where he teaches Medical Informatics, Statistics, Decision Theory and Evidence Based Medicine.

As president of RAMIT (Research in Medical Informatics and Telematics), he has been involved in more than 80 European or International Research and Development projects, as well as in Standardisation activities. During seven years, Prof. De Moor acted as Founding Chairman of CEN/TC251, the official Technical Committee on standardisation in Health Informatics in Europe.

Prof. De Moor has also founded a number of spin-off companies (e.g. MediBRIDGE, GEMARAN, Language and Computing, Custodix and TeleTendo).He is also President of MSHUGe (Microsoft Healthcare Industry Users Group Europe, Asia and Africa) and of the EuroRec Institute (Certification of Electronic Health Record Systems in Europe).

Dr De Moor is also Head of the Clinical Pathology laboratory at the St Elisabeth Hospital in Zottegem.

Prof. De Moor chairs a number of official Committees (e.g. the Health Telematics Committee and the Clinical Pathology Committee of the Belgian Ministries of Health and Social Affairs,), as well as a number of scientific and professional organisations (e.g. of the Belgian physicians specialised in Health Data Management).

He has edited several books, and published over 200 articles in international peer reviewed scientific journals.

Otto Larsen is director of the National EHR Organisation and director for health informatics, health statistics, and health economy in the National Board of Health.

The National EHR Organisation was established 2007 by the Danish Government, Danish Regions, and Local Government Denmark. The Organisation will coordinate the EHR implementation efforts in Denmark. One of the current activities is the development of the new IT strategy for health. Otto Larsen was the managing director for Danish Regions for 20 years and has a political science background from the University of Copenhagen.
